Jul 20, 2021 I am struggling to create a Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) virtual machine on macOS 10.15 (Catalina). How can I use Snow Leopard in VirtualBox on macOS Catalina? Here is what I have: macOS 10.15.7 (19H1217) Running on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) VirtualBox version 6.1.22 r144080 (Qt5.6.3) Max OS X 10.6 install ISO file. In the drive settings, choose Hazard’s Snow Leopard iso, attach it the tht virtual CD drive, and start the VM 1. As soon as it starts run, a message will appear for you to hit enter to boot from CD. Mac Os X 10.6.vdi Download Windows 7. Boot your Mac from your standard drive. Connect the external drive. Go to external drive OS X Install Data. Locate InstallESD.dmg disk image file — this is the file you need to reinstall Lion OS X. The same steps are valid for Mountain Lion and Mavericks. To create a virtual machine, open up Virtualbox and click 'New' on the upper left. Give your new virtual machine a name, and choose 'Mac OS X' for the OS Type. I recommend assigning at least 2 GB of RAM to the virtual machine, but you can assign as little as 1024 MB of RAM.

VBox.log for 4GB RAM boot

Same kind of failure on Debian 7 on Windows 8 x64 host
4GBTest.zip (489.8 KB) - added by TylerLoch5 years ago.
Simplest possible test VM to demonstrate the issue. If RAM set above 3504MB, no image ever appears on VM 'screen', and VM does not boot. If RAM set below this limit, EFI posts.

In this tutorial, I’ll be talking about connecting a virtual LAN network created using VirtualBox to a physical LAN segment with Internet access. The reason for this tutorial is to demonstrate that it is possible to create a virtual environment that closely mimics a production company LAN network in functionality. This includes being able to run services such as DHCP and DNS on your virtual LAN environment and using a router to provide access to the Internet.

Virtualbox

My virtual LAN is setup as follows:

  • Network: 10.0.0.0/8
  • Router/Gateway: 10.0.0.1 (this is the device we’ll be configuring in this tutorial)
  • DNS: 10.0.0.100 (my active directory domain controller named dc.dyndns.local)
  • DNS suffix: dyndns.local

My physical LAN is setup as follows:

  • Network: 192.168.1.1/24
  • Router/Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (a verizon router)
  • DNS: 192.168.1.1 (same verizon router)
  • My computer (virtual machine host): 192.168.1.4 (via dhcp from the verizon router)
